Building a grocery management experience that felt genuinely smart — not just a list app — by combining barcode scanning, expiry tracking, and personalized recipe recommendations in a single cohesive flow.
The Solution
Integrated ML Kit barcode scanning with Room DB for local item persistence, and connected a public recipe API to surface contextual meal suggestions based on in-stock items. WorkManager drove scheduled expiry notifications.
